The Church allows the faithful to associate themselves with the Mass through a particular intention entrusted to the celebrant, who has always been recognized as having the ability to join this particular intention to the general intention.
A Mass can be requested, for example, in thanksgiving for newlyweds, a baptism, a birthday, a deceased person, a sick person, a healing, or for a special intention that may remain unspecified for reasons of discretion. The Mass has no fixed price. However, from the earliest times, the faithful have wanted to participate in the Eucharist through offerings.
