Light a candle
Lighting a candle is part of what is known as popular piety, in other words, the devotion of the people.
This gesture can express thoughts or feelings that are sometimes difficult to articulate. The candle brings light, warmth, and serves to express what is important to humanity.
Following the fire on April 15, 2019, Notre-Dame Cathedral of Paris is closed.
However, during the restoration, the chaplains of Notre-Dame take special care to light this candle at the foot of the statue of the Virgin. They entrust her with the prayer you communicate.
This statue is currently visible in the Church of Saint-Germain l’Auxerrois (75001 Paris).

Requesting a Mass to be Celebrated for a Specific Intention
Every Mass has a universal value. However, it can also be celebrated for specific intentions. Requesting a Mass to be celebrated means entrusting to Jesus the living or deceased persons we love, as well as all our prayer intentions. It is also an opportunity to express our gratitude to God for an event, an answered prayer, or a received grace.
A Mass intention is therefore a request made to a priest for a Mass to be celebrated with a particular intention, such as praying for a loved one or oneself, for a living or deceased person, or for a specific cause like peace, unity, forgiveness, or an unspecified intention for reasons of discretion.
It is a way to entrust God with important situations or people dear to our hearts, asking for His help, His grace, or thanking Him for the blessings received.
Date of the Mass Celebration
The Mass will be celebrated in the coming days. Given the high number of requests, we cannot specify the exact date.
